Tundish for continuous casting - where exothermic bush is located above stopper outlet bush

Parent patent described a vessel holding molten metal, esp. tundishes. Improvement is that each outlet bush(a) is surrounded by a second bush(b) made of the same thermally insulating material(c) as the removable lining(c) surrounding bush(a), and bush(b) is retained in its correct position by the edge of lining(c). Bush(b) pref. has conical bore tapering downwards the axial hole in bush(a), the two holes possessing the same dia. at the joint surfaces of the bushes(a,b), and bush(b) pref. has an outer flange located in lining(c). Alternatively, the two bushes (a,b) may consist of a single, monolithic bush. By making bush(b) of an exothermic material, it is no longer necessary to preheat the outlet bushes (a).
