<p>Hexahydrocanthin-6-ones of formula (I) and their acid addition salts are novel cpds. (where R1 is H, hydroxy, acyloxy carbamate radical methoxy or halo; R2 is H opt. branched 1-5C alkyl or -CH2-CH2X and X is a hetero atom such as O or N joined to >=1 H atoms or >=1 1-5C alkyl gps. with the exclusion of known cpds. where R1 is H or hydroxy in position 8 when R2 is methyl and R1 is 10-methxoy when R2 is H). Used in treatment of cardio-circulatory, cerebro-vascular and respiratory insufficiencies. (I) are administered orally or parenterally in unit doses of 0.5-150 mg to give daily doses of 1-500 mg. Specific. (I) is ethyl-3-hexahydro-1,2,3,3a, 4,5-cathinone-6.</p> |
