In this computer-controlled train safety system, the travel instructions (VG) which are produced for every train (Z) are stored, in a train-oriented fashion, in a train data memory and, provided the individual trains have not yet reached their determined brake application points (BEP) and thus request the determination of a new travel instruction, are corrected merely with respect to the distance from the destination (ZL) and transmitted to the trains. The route data for example (V2, LV2, LGF2/3, LVS1) are centralised and stored on an area-by-area basis and are only handled a single time in each travel instruction determination. <IMAGE>
