A three component fireproofing paint pack comprises (i) a corrosion- proofing primer paint, (ii) a composition which foams up if fire breaks out, and, (iii) a top paint based on potassium waterglass and sodium waterglass containing 0.5 to 10 parts of Pb3O4. Foamable composition (ii) comprises expandable graphite, 30 to 80 parts of aluminium hydroxide per 100 parts by weight of expandable graphite, and, as binder, a halogenated elastomer and an alkyphenol formaldehyde resin. Building materials are protected from fire by application of the contents of the pack. |
