<p>The mechanism supplies a machine tool with workpieces from a bulk quantity. It comprises one or more hoppers (1), in the bottom of which is a lifting plunger (2), engaging with one of the items and raising it vertically above the hopper. The plunger can be actuated by any suitable reciprocating mechanism such as a hydraulic or pneumatic ram, solenoid, motor with reduction gear etc. It can have a cruciform recess in the top in which the workpieces fits, while its outline can be such that only one is raised at a time. The base of the hopper ca be so shaped as to encourage the items to rest on the plunger top.</p> |
