Foamed silicone rubber embolisation agents - contg. a radiopaque material

New embolisation agents comprises LTV-silicone rubber masses in conjunction with radiopaque materials, the silicone rubber mass being in foamed form. Used for artificial formation of embolisms, e.g. in the treatment of inoperable renal tumours, haematuria due to various causes and arteriovenous cerebral malformations. The agents are resistant to biodegradation and are well tolerated. The radiopaque materials permit ready determination of the location of the artificial embolisms. The agents are easy to inject, and do not move once lodged in place.
