<p>The profiled rail, for roller shutter guidance, is U-shaped in cross-section, with two shanks and a centre stem, as used on window or French door frames along a wall soffit, where it is designed to prevent joint gap exposure, or cracks in rendering, and to provide a good finish. For this purpose an additional screening batten is formed onto one of the shanks in the stem area, running vertically to the shanks in cross-section. The end of this is adjoined by a fishplate of expanded metal or similar, combining with it to form an acute angle, and embedded in the plaster or rendering when built in. There may also be an intermediate piece between screening batten and stem.</p> |
