1529205 Free-flowing acrylate elastomer/ fatty acid salt compositions AMERICAN CYANAMID CO 24 Nov 1975 [9 Dec 1974] 48276/75 Heading C3L A dry, free-flowing granular acrylate elastomer is prepared by aqueous suspension polymerization of a major proportion of an ester of acrylic acid and a minor proportion of a vinyl monomer containing a vulcanization site, from 0À5 to 6%, based on the weight of the elastomer particles of a divalent metal salt of a long chain fatty acid being incorporated into said particles during the polymerization, or on to said particles following completion of the polymerization. An anti-caking agent, e.g. fumed silica may also be included in the composition. Examples are given in which the elastomer is an ethyl acrylate-vinyl chloroacetate copolymer and the metal salt is calcium stearate, barium laurate, magnesium stearate, calcium palmitate or zinc myristate. |
