1470996 Glazing SAINT-GOBAIN INDUSTRIES 5 June 1974 [6 June 1973 4 Sept 1973] 24843/74 Heading E1R A fire resistant panel comprises a sheet of glass supported at the face exposed to heat by a metal member 4 which is not thermally insulated solely from a marginal region of the face having a width of a few millimetres, the edge of the sheet being insulated by a layer of material 7. In Fig. 1 the metal member 4 abuts the marginal region, and insulation 6, 7, 8 is provided. In Fig. 2 (not shown) a heat conducting mastic (19) is provided between member (14) and the sheet. In Fig. 3 (not shown) the border of the sheet is insulated over a greater width than 12 cm. In Figs. 5-7 (not shown) the side facing the heat is supported at intervals around its periphery by clamps (40) and braces (41) allowing access to the border of the pane. Reflecting layers (44, 56, 57) may be provided on the side facing the heat. |
