The segmented radial guide bearing is for vertical shaft machines, particularly hydroelectric generators, the clearance of the individual segments being adjustable by radial bolts guided in the bearing housing. Each bolt (10) is a thrust bolt of large cross-section, working in a bore (9) in the bearing housing (4), and having a ramp face (13) at its end furthest from the segment. This bears against the mating face (14) of an adjusting wedge piece (15) movable in the direction of the machine axis, and bearing against the bearing housing on the side furthest from the thrust bolt.
