The collector can be manufactured economically and is used in particular as a roof or façade collector. It can serve as a vapour barrier for absorbing solar energy and if appropriate as a heat exchanger for heat pumps. It is composed mainly of rolled sheet-metal profiles (3, 4) which have ribs, the ribs overlapping at the junction points without soldered seams or weld seams. Assembly is easy and economical. According to the construction type, the collector is operated with a heat-transfer liquid or with air. <IMAGE>
