The wave-powered pump system e.g. for an electricity generating unit has a pipe with three longitudinal chambers or a bundle of three pipes (1, 2, 3) over which several water -tight cases (4) made from elastic material are fitted. Each spherical or cylindrical case is sealed off from its neighbour and is sealed to the pipe by two clamps. All cases are connected by pressure valves (8) with one longitudinal chamber of the pipe or with one pipe in the bundle and by suction valves (9) with the second chamber or pipe. The third chamber or pipe is used to regulate the immersion depth with the aid of a separate unit (10). A turbine (11) can be introduced in the circuit between the first and second chambers or between the first and second pipes in a bundle.
