摘要 1517395 Food treatment A E STALEY MFG CO 17 Sept 1975 [17 Sept 1974] 38187/75 Addition to 1447908 Which is PA to 138728 Heading A2D [Also in Division C3] A method of sealed container retarting applicable to food preparations comprises retarting a medium comprising a "thin-thick" starch derivative at pH 3-7 under superatmospheric pressure for up to 20 min using a heat source capable of raising the internal temperature of the medium to a temperature of at least 190‹F, the retart medium having a heat penetration rate without degrading the starch derivative such that the internal temperature of the retart medium attains a temperature of at least 190‹F after under retart conditions for 8 to 25 minutes. The "thinthick" starch is similar to these claimed in Specification 1447908 but is derived from high amylopectin starch derivatives of waxy maize, waxy sorghum, waxy milo, or waxy starch containing less than 20% amylase.
