The same basic body shell is used for alternative body forms: a lift-back body, and a body with a small luggage compartment lid and a fixed rear window. For the latter form, the shell has a cross member (3), below which is a rain gutter (14) with a flange (15) for the seal. Above the cross member the opening has a flange (9) for mounting the window assembly. For the lift-back version, the cross member (3) is absent and the gutter (14) is extended to surround the entire aperture. This form of construction permits the alternative body forms to be produced from a single basic body shell.
