Building joint covers with foam lined flanges for a water seal - to avoid need for continuous supporting panels

Covers for joints between blocks of buildings comprise an inverted channel of rectangular or curved cross-section having internal ribs which can be engaged with pairs of vertical plates mounted each side of the joint at intervals along its length. Lateral flanges along the edge of the cover are lined with flexible polyurethane foam to form a seal. Arrangement requires less material than a former design for which the supporting plates were continuous, and acted also as the lateral water barrier.
