The low-friction ski has on the sole a straight lengthwise central rib (4), of curved cross-section. On each side of the rib is a straight lengthwise groove (5, 6), likewise of curved cross-section, extending to the edge (1a, 1b) of the ski to form a ridge (7, 8). These ridges are set back from the plane (P) tangential to the summit of the central rib, so that in the horizontal position the ski bears on the surface only via the rib, in which a lengthwise metal bar (9) can be incorporated in the summit zone. The rib and bar can extend from a point slightly to the rear of that where the front tip joins the main body (1) of the ski, being both chamfered towards the front. The grooves extend rearwards from the same point, their width increasing progressively towards the rear.
|
