PURPOSE: To obtain a dental composite, comprising a radiation nontransmitting glass containing an extractable fluoride and a binder resin without deteriorating mechanical properties while sustainedly releasing the fluoride effective in preventing dental caries. CONSTITUTION: This dental composite restorative material comprises (A) a resin suitable for dental restoration, (B) a nonalkaline radiopaque glass containing an extractable fluoride and treatable with a silane, e.g. a glass composed of 40-56wt.% SiO2 , 15-35wt.% BaO, 4-12wt.% Al2 O3 , 5-12wt.% B2 O3 , 0-7wt.% ZnO, 0-18wt.% SrO and 2-20wt.% F without containing an alkali metallic oxide. A resin containing a reactional product obtained by reacting a vinyl ester of a polyglycidyl ester having secondary OH group with an isocyanate reactional product through the secondary hydroxyl group of the vinyl ester, a polymerizable acrylic diluting monomer and a free radical polymerization catalyst (preferably a photosensitizing catalyst system) is preferred as the component A.
