A number of multilayer capacitors is combined in a unit. A number of capacitor units (1) form an equilateral polygon. Each capacitor unit (1) has two contact surfaces (2). Two contact surfaces (2) of two adjacent capacitor units (1) are in touch with each other along one of their edges (3), forming a groove (4), each with a connecting wire (5) firmly connected electrically and mechanically, so that the capacitor units (1) form a ring or four sided open ended box. Several of these box units may be stacked end-to-end, held together by the connector wires. The individual capacitor units are shaped as thick squares or rectangles.
