1511503 Lubricants; fuels EXXON RESEARCH & ENG CO 24 April 1975 17034/75 Headings C5F and C5G [Also in Division C3] Lubricating and fuel compositions, and additive concentrates, contain a modified acrylic polymer prepared by reaction of (1) an acidic interpolymer of (a) a C 1-8 straight-chain alpha-alkyl acrylic acid, (b) a C 8-14 straight-chain alkyl ester of such an acid, and (c) a C 16-20 straight-chain alkyl ester of such an acid, with (2) an alkylene amino compound having 2-12 nitrogen atoms, pairs of which are joined by C 2-4 alkylene groups. The additive is preferably used in conjunction with an ethylene/propylene copolymer. Conventional base oils may be used, and other usual additives may be included. |
