Coating of glass working machine parts with wear resistant metal powder is carried out by means of a spray gun in a device, in which the part to be coated is rotated and the gun is supported by a vertical lead screw, on which it can be moved upwards. - The lead screw is supported by a bearing, which is spring-loaded so that it can be moved away from the workpiece there being a probe for ensuring, that the pistol is kept at a constant distance from the workpiece. - The speed of rotation of the workpiece is automatically adjusted to ensure that an even amount of metal is sprayed on the workpiece surface. - The machine is used for rotating symmetrical components used in the working etc. of glass and can be used for the semiautomatic coating of such components.
