The overhead conveyor includes a conveyor chain which is located by two drive sprocket wheels. The sprocket wheels are on top of two pillars which stand in line and form part of a wall. Guide panels with integral support tracks for the conveyor chain are attached to vertical rails on the pillars. Equally spaced attachments on the conveyor chain are used to transfer articles from one side of the wall to the other. Fixed sensor arams are located where the conveyor loads move through a hole in the wall. Thus a misplaced load hits the sensor arm which then will operate a switch that stops the conveyor drive.
