The container (1) has dispensing means for powder or granular material. It has a fixed cover (4) with one or more orifices (7) and a rotatable cover (9) with dispensing openings. The fixed cover has a collar (6) capable of engaging a recess (2) in the container wall. The rotatable cover has a skirt (11) surrounding the fixed cover. The lower end of the skirt has an inward collar (12) capable of gripping below a rim (3) on the container. The cross-section of the orifice (7) may taper outwards in the direction of the rotatable cover. The orifice may be sector-shaped. There may be two diametrically opposed orifices. The rotatable cover may have projections (13) engaging the orifices. The projections may be radial ribs.
