The rotatable fastening for the connector pipes of vacuum cleaners is formed by a sliding sleeve which is inserted in the mouthpiece of the vacuum cleaner housing and is itself secured against displacement and rotation but allows the rotatable mounting and axial fastening of the connector pipe when the latter is inserted. The sleeve is prevented from rotating by a pin which projects into a recess of a flange and from axial displacement by its locking members and the flange. This sliding sleeve thereby protects the adjoining parts of the housing, more partic. the mouthpiece, from friction and wear.
