<p>A length measuring system is for determination of mechanical or dynamic quantities. It has mechanical and opto-electronic parts, two cylinders and a scanning device. The mechanical part of the system comprises a shaft, bearing, bearing sleeve, probe unit and guide carriage etc. A rotating measuring cylinder is provided with wedge-shaped measuring surfaces. A rotating control cylinder has discontinuous light and dark fields and acts as a pulse generator. The opto-electronic part consists of a scanner for scanning the measuring line or the measuring surface of the cylinder. The scanning device determines the counting and control pulses for transmission to a pulse counter.</p> |
