The metal case (2) has an opening (6) with a shoulder (7) on which rests an insulating sealing ring (9), and on it a terminal (11) with a circular collar (12). The case edge (8) is bent inward so that the sealing ring (9) covers the collar (12) on all sides, with the collar (12) clamped between the shoulder (7) and the bent edge (8). The sealing ring (9) is made of an elastic material, esp. rubber. The terminal extension may take the form of a pin or a hollow bush and is formed out of massive cylindrical material stock. The case edge (8) is made from aluminium or aluminium alloy. The main cover plate (1) for the capacitor also incorporates a ventilation hole.
