Device for preventing running through of a pulled paper roll positioned with its central inner opening on a holder includes a part (20) which is rigidly attached to the holder (10). The part (20) is provided with projections (21) which are in friction contact with inner surface of the opening (31) of the paper roll (30). The projections (21) form vanes which are curved in the pull-off direction of the paper roll (30). The rigidly attached part (20) may consist of a number of individual units which are spaced along the core (10) of the holder.
