PURPOSE: To precisely control fuel injection quantity by closing a first solenoid valve again at an interval of filling a storing chamber controlled by the first solenoid valve when a storing piston reaches a target value. CONSTITUTION: A first solenoid valve 45 is opened under the control of a control device 75, allowing the high pressure fuel from a pump 1 to flow into a fuel storing chamber 38 from a high pressure accumulating chamber 16, resulting in pushing up a reservoir piston resisting to a spring 63. When the moving distance detected by a distance pulse generator 68 thus reaches a target, that is a criterion of fuel quantity, the first solenoid valve is closed, finishing the filling of the fuel storing chamber 38. In the next step, at the time of the start of fuel injection, a second solenoid valve 52 is opened to send fuel from the fuel storing chamber 38 to an injection valve 25 through a connection pipe 24. In this case, intermittent fuel injection becomes possible by controlling the opening and closing the second solenoid valve 52. Injection fuel quantity can thus be controlled precisely. |
