The spring contact assembly, for an electrical switch, always maintains a minimum contact pressure despite contact burn-off. The spring arm (1) carrying the moving contact button (4) has a piece (2) attached to it to increase its initial contact pressure. The piece is shaped like a bracket and is fixed to the side of the spring arm that is under tension when contact is made. The short end (7) of the bracket passes through a hole in the spring arm and is held there by a cotter pin. The arm is moved by the operating member (10) acting on the bracket.
