The self-loading trailer loads and unloads bales, having a chassis on wheels and with a hitch. A continuous passage is formed by guide walls mounted on the chassis and its height is that of several bales, having an inlet with an elevator picking up the bales from the ground and delivering them into it. An endless conveyor in the passage is started when a bale is delivered and stopped when it is engaged in the passage, having an ascending section extending slightly higher than a bale height, and a stacking section feeding the bale forward.A rotary bale driving member acts on the bales opposite the stacking section, and means for reversing conveyor and elevator are included.The rotary member is mounted above the inlet on a component tilting in the chassis on a horizontal axis.
