Cassette for folded paper in cash register has a holder (38) for the paper stack (56) with a spring wire (46) by means of which the stack is pressed against a guide roller (44). The one limb (46) of the wire is approx. L-shaped so that it rests on the outer side (54) of the stack. The spring wire is coiled around an axle (42) and has its other limb (50) serving as a pressure piece resting against the cash register strip. The paper stack is fed to the register by rotating the rollr (16) around which the strip passes and against which the spring wire limb (50) rests. The designs ensures that at any point in time the strip of paper is withdrawn uniformly from the zig-zag stack.
