<p>A method is used for controlled beam direction using reflector aerials to balance out or compensate for level fluctuations in radio links. It is used specif. in directional radio and involves the use of readjustment of the aerial characteristics in micro-wave engineering. To obtain optimum aerial gain with maximum residual or internal losses, and at small expense, the method involves heterodyning a wave, derived from the hollows waveguides fundamental wave. The fundamental wave is generated in the driven dipoles port in such a way that an excursion of the maximum field strength of the exciting or driving source causes turning of the aerial lobe, the excursion being from the central axis of the driven dipole.</p> |
