Flame-resistant laminate of chipboard and glued-on veneer(s) - where the glue contains a flame-retardant in a gas-permeable layer

Flame-resistant laminates comprises a (difficulty flammable) chipboard and an adhesively bonded veneer on 1 or both sides. The adhesive layer contains a flame-retardant, and in the adhesive layer a gas-permeable layer of difficultly flammable or non-flammable material. Used e.g. in mfr. of doors, furniture, partitions. The gas-permeable layer prevents build-up of press. of gases formed during exposure to heat, inside the laminate so that destruction of the prod. is minimised or at least delayed. Normally flammable veneers can be used.
