A chuck has a radial adjustment of clamping jaws with teeth, the jaws being located in a housing. The adjustment is achieved by a spiral disc rotatable around the chuck housing and tension applied by axially displaceable wedge surfaces. - The flanks of the clamping jaw (6) have teeth (11). The teeth and the spiral thread (10) of the rotating disc (9) run inclined to the chuck axis, and the spiral disc (9) is axially displaceable counter-posed to the chuck housing (1). For axial displacement of the spiral disc (9) a bush (13) is provided, which is guided in a chuck housing (1) central hole. The bush (13) engages with projections (13a) in a ring groove of the spiral disc (9).
