Aq. shampoo- and hair-conditioning compsn. contains >=1 surfactant, an encapsulated oil and a thickened aq. vehicle. Compsn. may also contain an anti-dandruff agent, small quantities of chelating agent, preservative and perfume and opt. a UV-absorber. Shampooing, scalp treatment and conditioning may be effected in a single step. A pref. compsn. contains, by wt., 0.1-2.5% carboxyvinyl polymer thickener, 0.5-60% triethanolamine lauryl sulphate surfactant, 0.1-5% mineral oil-cong. gelatine capsules and 1-7.5% 1-hydroxy-2-thione anti-dandruff component.
