The coupling compensation system is for communication cables, the cores of which have an identification colour on the insulation. The individual cores of each quad cable are identified by different colours. Specific intersection sequences in the connecting joints of the mfd. lengths of a section are provided for the compensation of the systematic couplings occurring on the cores of a quad cable owing to the various amounts of colouring. In a quad cable, two intersection positions (2, 3) alternate for compensating the systematic seal couplings. Alternatively, an intersection position remains the same. The interaction of colourings causes dielectric asymmetrics in the quad cable.
