Magnetic tape for storage of signals - uses main and auxiliary tracks for various signals and positioned on opposite sides of tape

The tape has at least two main tracks for recording main signals. There are apart from one another and are positioned on opposite edges of the tape with regard to the central longitudinal axis of the tape. Two or more auxiliary tracks are for recording auxiliary signals and are placed in the gap between the main tracks. The auxiliary signals belonging to the main signals recorded in the main track on one side of the tape are recorded in the auxiliary track which is nearest the main track on the other side of the tape.
