The manure spreader floor drive consists of a stepping ratchet gear (6) on the floor drive shaft (5) with rockers (11, 12) at either side Pawls (14, 19) move the gear in or against the travel direction and at twice the speed against this direction. One rocker can be arrested so that its pawl acts as a backrun preventer while the floor is moving against the direction of travel. The pushrod (20, 21) operating the rocker (11, 12) is freed from the cam disc (9) and fixed to a journal mounted immovably relative the floor shaft (5). The rocker is held locked by a two position pawl at the outer end of the active stroke, and the pushrod may be telescopic.
