Attaching terminals to capacitors interwound with polypropylene foils - by attaching polyester foils to former foils to provide hard mass supporting bent over terminals

In the parent patent interwound foil capacitors with overlapping or staggered layers which are separated from each other by plastics foils has the layers provided with terminals which are soldered on using connecting wires which are bent at right angles and pressed against the projecting plastics foils. In this addn. plastics material is selected such that following heatint it forms a hard mass having teh required mechanical strength and temp. resistance to hold mechanically the bent connected wire. Pref. the plastics foils are made from polyester. Alternatively only the ends of the foils may be made from polyester, whereby the ends may have a length of from 50-200 mm depending on the size of the wound capacitors. The polyester foils whicha re attached to polypropylene foils are thicker than the latter and have a thickness varying from 25-60 u.
