<p>The snowchain is fitted with fastening strands (2) on both sides, with the side away from the car on the outside of the wheel having simple hoops (7) and clips (8) to secure the chain. The inside edge has extended fitting lengths (5, 5a) with hooks (6, 6a) at the ends. The chain is draped over the wheel and the inside lengths threaded through open loops (4, 4a) near the ends of the chain pattern, and tightened, and with the hooked ends taken to the outside of the wheel. The chain can be fitted rapidly without having to reach behind the wheel. The long lengths are thrown past the rear of the tyre and threaded through the hoops at the tyre edges. With all the hooked ends on the outside of the wheel, fitting is a simple operation.</p> |
