<p>An illuminated element suitable for decoration such as Christmas decorations, or for indication purposes such as marking stair, platforms or crossings uses optical fibre light guides connected directly to a light source. They are of transparent material having a selected refraction index treated or coated with an outer layer of a substance giving a diffuse reflection of the light conveyed. The light guides may be of acryl glass, and may be coated with a lacquer which may be coloured. The light guides are visible along their entire length under dark conditions.</p> |
