<p>Deoxyclavalanic acid of formula (III) existing as the isomers (IV) and (V) including their salts and esters are novel cpds. pharmaceutical compsn. containing cpds. (III) and opt. penicillin or cephalosporin derivs. Antibacterials used in the treatment of urinary tract infections, respiratory illness, non-muscular tissues infections, mastitis, otitis etc. The compsns. with penicillins may be used to treat urinary tract and respiratory infections and are especially suitable for those caused by Klebisella aeruginosa, Proteus or E. coli. The cpds. and compositions may be administered parenterally or orally formulated by classical methods for antibiotics.</p> |
