The guideways of the cam (1a, 1b, 1c) are in the form of discontinuous surfaces (23, 24). The first one serves for guiding the switch pin (6) in the direction between presettable lower and upper limit temperature, the latter forming the rated value. The guidance may be exerted in reversed direction as well. The other guide surface (24) serves for guiding the switch pin in the direction between the rated value and the lower limit temperature. The end (9) of the first surface forms an irreversible snap-action transition of the switch pin to the second guide surface. This end defines the switching point for the temperature limiting. A releasable latching device (2, 3) for the switch pin returning over the first guide surface.
