The connector has a filter (13) and a non return ball valve (15) which operate inside one half of the connector. This portion has a nozzle at one end (11) which has an 'O' ring at its base. The connector is covered by a sleeve (7) which is spring loaded by a coil spring (16). The spring operates outside the inner sleeve (6n). The sleeve has three kidney shaped slots (6f) which hold the locking bars (6t). Coupling is effected by moving the sleeve (7) against the spring (16r) and inserting the coupling half (3) over the nozzle (11). The locking bars are moved outwards when the spring is compressed.
