The level of liquid for continuous watering of plants is maintained constant in a container by one or more sealed reservoirs with openings at the liquid level. Water is siphoned from the recipient to the plant tubs. A sealed reservoir (2) is mounted on a support (3) in a container (1) so that holes in the reservoir are located at the level at which the liquid is required to be maintained constant. Liquid from the container is siphoned to plant tubs by a tube (4). A large diameter section (7) in the tube enables siphoning to commence and a weight (6) holds the tube end under the liquid surface.
