The machine (2) for attaching and fittings to high pressure flexible hydraulic pipes has a circular mount plate (3) supporting three equally spaced hydraulic jacks (12). The piston rods (15) of the jacks (12) are attached to a first ring (8) with a tapered bore (9). A slotted ring (4) supports a number of fingers (6) with inclined ends to match the taper of the bore (9). The flexible tube with its fitting is placed inside the slotted ring (5) and pressure supplied to the jacks. The first ring (8) moves downwards and pushes the fingers (6) radially inwards to lock the fitting to the pipe. The small size of the machine is convenient for use in the field.
