Electromagnetic contactor with enclosed contact breakers - has two groups of arc quenching sheets associated with each stationary contact pair

The contact breaker systems of the electromagnetic switching contactor are mounted in switching chambers. They consist each of a stationary contact pair with an associated switching bridge. Each switching chamber is provided with light arc quenching sheets, i.e. a group of several sheets for each stationary contact. Two groups of arc quenching sheets associated to a stationary contact pair (7, 8) are mechanically held by connecting walls of insulating material. Simultaneously they are so interconnected that all arc quenching sheets of both groups and the connecting walls form a rigid mounting assembly (13, 14, 15). Preferably the connecting walls are both of arc resistant and creep current resistant material.
