<p>A system of mirrors is employed to direct and concentrate the sun's rays onto a fixed point on a heater. The position of the reflected beam is detected and the signal is used to control movement of the mirrors. A mirror (1a) receiving the sun's rays (15, 16) comprises two transparent glass plates (11, 12) with a gold reflecting surface (13) on the upper surface of one plate (11). An area (10) with a circular catadioptric periphery is free of the reflecting layer so that rays are returned in their particular direction (17, 18). The upper surface of the upper plate (12) reflects the rays (21) through the reflecting layer to a detector (22) which ensures that the suns rays are always reflected (15a, 16a) towards the furnace.</p> |
