The disc brake has an automatic adjustment for lining wear operating on release, and allows the braking torque to be set to a desired value read off from a scale. IT can be operated mechanically, hydraulically, pneumatically or electrically. It has pendulum-mounted tong-type brake shoes (2, 2') each pressed against the brake disc (1) by levers (4, 4') pivoting in the housing (12). The initial position of the levers is such that the actuating angle and force of both toggle levers (13, 13') are kept constant for the entire thickness of the brake lining by the automatic adjustment (14). As the toggle levers pass through the dead-centre position they produce an actuating angle and force acting in the opposite direction.
|
