A quartz oscillator of a clock regulating system, in which the frequency of the system is influenced by pulse rates or clock pulses derived from the oscillations of a quartz crystal is scynchronised by taking an effective signal from the oscillating system and determining, by phase comparison with the derived quartz pulses, the frequency deviations of the effective signal. The frequency of the oscillating system is then modified as a function of these frequency deviations.
