The HF amplifier, for cable distributors, has a differential amplifier whose two inputs are bridged by the base/emitter junction of a transistor. The transistor base forms the input terminal for the input signal. The collector of the transistor is connected to one output terminal. The differential amplifier contains a second transistor whose base is connected to the emitter of the first transistor, and an emitter impedance is connected between the emitter of the second transistor and the base of the first. The amplifier is based on the fact that a signal undergoes its greatest distortion on passing through the base-emitter junction of a transistor.
